CRPCA Service Partner: Oregon Food Bank CRPCA's members voted to focus our 2009-2010 service activities on The Oregon Food Bank.
![]() Oregon Food Bank (OFB) distributes nearly 33 million pounds of food in the Portland Metro Area annually. The Volunteer Action Center is located at 7900 NE 33rd Drive in Portland. There is ample parking and TriMet's Bus #73 stops right in front of the building. CRPCA's volunteers are repackaging and sorting bulk non-perishable food items. The tasks involve standing, squatting, lifting and pulling. OFB can accommodate most physical limitations, so please contact Brendan or Tom if you have any special needs. Here are the safety details:
Past OFB Service Events In January 2009, we sent donated food items down a conveyor belt and created balanced food boxes for individual families ![]()

In March 2009, we picked through bins for good apples, creating five-pound bags of apples for individual families. At the end of our shift, they told us we'd just packed the equivalent of 9,643 meals. We also donated 148 pounds of food we'd collected from attendees at the March 7 Peace Corps birthday party. ![]()
